Which format fits your pickleball event
Pickleball tournaments usually run one of a few setups, and EZ Bracket has all of them. The right pick depends on whether you want guaranteed games, a clean medal round, or both.
A common competitive setup is pool play into a bracket: groups play round robin first, then the top finishers seed into a single- or double-elimination draw. You can run both halves here back to back.
- Round robin (pool play): everyone in the group plays everyone once. Best for keeping pools at 4 to 6 teams so the day doesn't run long. Live standings sort it out.
- Double elimination (main draw): a team is out only after two losses. Losers drop to the back draw and can fight all the way back. Great for a competitive bracket where one bad game shouldn't end your day.
- Single elimination: fastest format, one loss and you're done. Best when courts or time are tight.
- Consolation: single elimination plus a 3rd-place playoff, so you crown gold, silver, and bronze.
Singles, doubles, and seeding
Works for any division: men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed. For doubles, just enter each pair as one entry ("Smith / Lee") and the bracket treats them as a single team.
Supports 2 to 128 entries. Enter players or teams in seed order and EZ Bracket handles the rest. When your count isn't a power of two, it adds byes automatically and gives them to the top seeds, who skip the first round. No manual bye math, no lopsided draws.
Matches can be best-of-1, best-of-3, or best-of-5 to match your event's scoring. Tap a team to advance them, tap again to undo, with full undo and redo if you call the wrong score.
